Is modern society sexist against men?

It seems that society has always functioned under the impression that it had to have a second class sex. It is fair to say that during the course of history the female sex has had that role, however since the beginning of the 20th century and with the up-rise of the feminist movement a shift has been evident, where by women are becoming dominant in the work place and at home.

Currently, sexism towards men seems to be unacknowledged or considered a joke. In no way are we trying to go against any feminist movement or women in general, we are merely stating a fact. Equality should exist in society, whether it is at the work place or at home. Nevertheless, it is important to preserve a balance, equality and understanding of certain roles within that society.

Numerous inequalities are evident in daily life against both sexes. Divorce and child custody is one key issue, where by most of the times the mother is awarded custody of the child, whilst only in extreme cases are the fathers given that right. Nevertheless, despite women being stronger in the academic field, men still maintain most positions of power. Concluding, we can identify a sexism towards both sexes, nonetheless this racism currently applies against men.
